Erin Dougherty Williams

Born in Naples, Florida, Erin Dougherty Williams spent the first 18 years of her life exploring the southern Florida coast. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, she returned to Florida to pursue her first substantial body of work, Vulnerable Silences. During this time she also managed photographer Jorge Alvarez’s Studio. This experience introduced her the the quality of commercial lighting. This time spent working commercially, greatly influenced the lighting you now see in her personal work.

Recently she has relocated to Eugene, OR to take advantage of the natural playground offered by the landscape of the Northwest. An observer of life, Erin aspires not only to capture what she sees, but to create images that convey what we don’t always see; our passions, anxieties and desires. She strives to combine her acquired skills in the commercial field with her conceptual background and fascination with story telling.
